About Corey Shapiro

The Day Everything Changed

I was eight years old when my mother disappeared. One day, she was there. Her voice was in the kitchen, and her shoes were by the door. Then she was gone.

I waited for her after school. Bedtime came, breakfast came, and she still was not there. No one could explain why she left my sister and me. No one could tell us what we had done.

Why do I do this work
That experience shaped how I practice law. Divorce does not have to destroy families. My job is to bring clarity and strategy so you can protect what matters most and move forward with strength.

What that means for you

  • Clear decisions instead of fear‑based reactions

  • Children first, with conflict kept low and problem-solving healthy

  • Calm, effective negotiation that leads to durable agreements

  • No, a lawyer can only represent one party in a divorce. However, you and your spouse can work together through mediation or collaborative divorce to reach an agreement without going to court.

    • If uncontested, expect about a year.

    • If contested, prepare for several years.

    • It depends. If a difficult spouse hires a collaborative-minded attorney, conflict can often be minimized. However, if they hire a competitive attorney, expect the need for court.

    • For all out-of-court work, we offer a flat-fee option.

    • We also provide flat-fee pricing for specific parts of a court divorce.
